The Museum of the National Liberation Struggle of the Ternopil Region was established on 6 November 2018 by civic organizations and the Ternopil Regional Council.
Its purpose is to preserve and study historical, material, spiritual, and cultural artifacts connected with the national liberation struggle of the Ukrainian nation, and to educate visitors about this historical-cultural heritage. Its main areas of activity are research and cultural-educational work, carried out through
the acquisition, preservation, study of historical artifacts and the material and spiritual heritage connected with the struggle for Ukrainian statehood.

named after Yakiv Busel (village of Byshky, Ternopil district).
• People’s Historical Memorial Museum of Yaroslav and Slava Stetsko
(village of Velykyi Hlybochok, Ternopil district).
INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT THE MUSEUM:
• Conducted several trips to eastern Ukraine to meet with volunteer soldiers,
who gifted the first exhibits associated with the Russian-Ukrainian War to
the Museum
• Acquired a unique and valuable artifact from Kyiv: the cabinet of OUN Leader Stepan Bandera. Received an exhibition entitled «People of Freedom», donated by the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, which presents the lives and work of distinguished Ukrainians
• Received more than 10,000 books, bound volumes, and unique periodicals and newspapers connected with the Ukrainian diaspora from the Ukrainian Information Service and the Stepan Bandera Museum (United Kingdom)
• Accepted a donation of 145 volumes (4 Series) of the «Litopys UPA», totaling
more than 1,000 books from the «Litopys UPA» Publishing House in L’viv
• Thanks to the establishment of the «Museum of Ukraine’s Struggle» Charitable
Foundation, initiated work on an exhibit entitled «Ukrainian Military Formations
of the 20th–21st Centuries – Uniforms, Insignia, Weapons» exhibit. (In total, 70 mannequins of Ukrainian soldiers from different eras are scheduled to be displayed). This foundation also helps to address some financial and material needs including the production of banners, emblems, display stands, designs for
envelopes and stamps, and storage solutions for the Museum’s collections
• Accepted a library collection of 16,400 books from the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada – Toronto Branch.
FACILITY REDEVELOPMENTS:
• Prepared design and cost-estimates for the construction of the Mykola Arsenych National Liberation Struggle Museum. Mykola Arsenych (alias “Mykhailo”), was a counterintelligence general in the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) and a Security Service Referent in the leadership circles of the Organization of
Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), in the village of Byshky, Ternopil region.
• Renovated the Museum of Political Prisoners in Ternopil
• Renovated the premises of the Yaroslav and Slava Stetsko National Historical
Memorial Museum in the village of Velykyi Hlybochok, Ternopil region.
• Renovated the stairs, installed an access ramp, and reconstructed the first
floor and restroom at the 5 Medova Street building in Ternopil.
The following exhibits are open in the main Museum building, where the administration currently operates: «Ukrainian Military Formations of the 20th–21st Centuries», an exhibition devoted to materials from the archives of the OUN armed underground and UPA units «Revolution of Dignity. Volunteers»
«Art at War» by Svitlana Lohush «Russian-Ukrainian War».
The Museum plans to continue the reconstruction of the administrative building, to create new exhibition spaces dedicated to the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen, the West Ukrainian National Republic (ZUNR), the Ukrainian Galician Army (UHA), the OUN, the UPA, the underground Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, political dissidents, Ukraine’s Independence, and to complete the «Ukrainian Military Formations of the 20th–21st Centuries» exhibition.
